GOVT P.U. COLLEGE, GOKAK is one of the oldest high schools in Chikkodi district. This school was started in the year 2000.The management of GOVT P.U. COLLEGE is department of Education. It has total 28 well experienced staff.
This has 1473 students (13 sections) in high school sections. The school follows co-curricular education and teaching is available in Kannada.
School is certified as A grade by govt.
In the year 2014-15 students were participated in State Level Science Exbition and secured 2nd prize and selected for National Level.

About NSQF at  Govt. P.U. College:       The School has two sectors under NSQF project of RMSA- NSQF .They are IT/ITES and HEALTH CARE. The IT/ITES sector trainer was employed on 22-September 2014. The sector has 25 students under its helm and free Student workbooks have been supplied by Government of Karnataka. The course is structured with field visits and guest lectures.
